Emigrating from Germany in the 1730’s, Henrich Gruber settled this piece of land situated in southeastern Pennsylvania. The farm continued to be passed down through Henrich’s descendants until the 1940’s when it was sold outside of the Gruber family. Forty-seven years later, and in a dilapidated condition, we purchased the homestead and began the restoration.
The original buildings that remain are the main house, built in 1846; the bank barn, circa 1886; two smaller sheds; and the settler’s cabin. The cabin, with its historical charm, has been restored and is offered as a guest cottage. Also on the property is Homestead Woodworking and PG Miniature Horses and Donkeys.
